A Seraphic Splenetic Sonnet
(in a "Non-Standard" 14-line Sonnet style)

A former diplomat says that we care
(us citizens) about one thing alone:
the price of gas and diesel. “Lots to spare”
says He who sits on an imagined throne
and will not tolerate those who declare:
“Your Whirlwind rose from seeds that you have sown.”
Surrounded by His sycophants, He dreams
of fame the likes of which no one has seen
but owing to his many hairbrained schemes
no Loser until Him has so far been
the one who came apart at all those seams
where weeping angels with our human spleen
at such fantastic tricks by angry apes
laugh mortal from their meals of sour grapes.
